With a wide offering of services including translation of documents, availability of specific Indigenous languages, and voiceover work, they are a fantastic and reliable firm to assist with exhibition, marketing, and audio guide work for museums and heritage institutions. We highly recommend wintranslation

As a local, not-for-profit community museum, the Bytown Museum is committed to serving the many and diverse communities that make up Ottawa. We were pleased to work with wintranslation on two major recent projects; translation of our permanent gallery text panels and a new storytelling website onto French and Anishinaabemowin. Working with wintranslation allowed the museum to offer its exhibition and programming to a wider audience and ensured the work was done with reliability, integrity to community values and professionalism

We (The Indigenous Theatre at the National Arts Centre) required short translations in a variety of dialects: Algonquin, Michif, Plains Cree, Woods Cree and Halq’eméylem. Wintranslation helped us find the best match from their available translators and overall had all of the dialects we needed. They were competent, friendly, and helped us meet our tight deadlines efficiently.

The museum contacted wintranslation because we needed text translated for a new panel. We wanted two dialects for the panel – Eastern Ojibwe and Mohawk. wintranslation went above and beyond to ensure the dialects were location appropriate and that they were done by knowledge holders from both communities.

Patience and commitment of wintranslation staff to ensure that we had high quality and accurate translation was amazing. Thank you wintranslation, the translators and community members for ensuring the museum was able to put forth an excellent panel that was true to both communities and that visitors to Murney Tower Museum will be able to experience both Eastern Ojibwe and Mohawk in print.

When we needed a large, complex document translated from English to French on a tight timeline, wintranslation was able to take on the job without delay, and get it done on time with good quality. They even identified some issues with the English version that we were able to fix before it was published — an added value! When another document came in at the last minute just before a big event, wintranslation had no trouble accommodating the request which I knew would be too much to ask of a smaller independent contractor. Communications were swift, professional and friendly. I had one less thing to worry about at a time when many components needed to come together quickly and had to meet high quality standards. The company was very solution- and client-oriented, which I very much appreciated.
