Korean is the official language in both North Korea and South Korea and has approximately 78 million speakers living worldwide. There are several dialects spoken through the different regions of these two countries, although they are for the most part mutually intelligible.

The Korean language is mostly made of words native to the language however there are some influences from Chinese, Japanese and, more recently, English.
