Orange Shirt Day – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
On September 30, we come together to recognize Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the children who were sent to residential schools, those who never returned, and the survivors who live with the legacy of these institutions. It is a day of remembrance, learning, and deep reflection, as well as a call to action for all Canadians to continue supporting reconciliation.
At wintranslation we are committed to supporting Indigenous language preservation and cultural continuity through translation services. We believe that true reconciliation involves not only acknowledging the past but uplifting the voices and cultures of Indigenous peoples today and into the future.
On this webpage, we have gathered a collection of resources to help deepen understanding of the impact of residential schools, the importance of language revitalization, and how we can all contribute to reconciliation efforts. We invite you to explore these resources and engage in ongoing learning and reflection.
