wintranslation Part of Trade Mission To U.S.

OTTAWA – wintranslation, a leading Canadian translation company that exports many of its services abroad is kicking off its 18th year in business by participating in a trade mission organized by the Business Women in International Trade (BWIT) program in conjunction with the Consulate General of Canada in Miami, Florida. The trade mission is part of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) National Conference and Business Fair taking place in Orlando, Florida from June 21-23.

The WBENC National Conference & Business Fair is expected to draw more than 3,500 attendees and as many as 300 exhibitors including Fortune 1000 companies and America’s leading Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs). WBENC is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the United States. For companies such as wintranslation that operate outside of the United States, certification is provided by WBENC’s global partner, WEConnect International.

wintranslation, founded by President Huiping Zhang in June 1998, received its WBE Certification last year. “This trade mission is the highest profile result of our certification but, in terms of business development, WEConnect International has facilitated our access to some very large global corporations.” says Zhang.

Growth through export has been a key strategy for wintranslation. In the most recent fiscal year, export sales accounted for about 60% of wintranslation’s revenue.

The company’s web site attracts clients from the U.S. and Europe for projects ranging from translating recruitment collateral into Chinese and Korean for world renowned sports academies, to subtitling YouTube videos in Spanish.

Zhang, who was named one of Ottawa’s “Top 40 under 40” business people in 2008, is excited to be marking her company’s 18th birthday on the international stage. “I am proud to be celebrating this milestone at such an event with hundreds of inspiring women business leaders,” said Zhang.
