Red Dress Day – May 5th

Resources for Awareness and Action in Support of Red Dress Day
May 5, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ People, also known as Red Dress Day. This day invites us to acknowledge the profound loss experienced by Indigenous families and communities, and to reflect on our shared responsibility in addressing ongoing injustices.
At wintranslation, we believe language can be a powerful tool in amplifying Indigenous voices and supporting Indigenous-led efforts for justice and awareness. Through our work in delivering Indigenous language translations, we strive to respectfully support communities as they tell their stories.
Below, we have compiled resources to encourage reflection and action on this critical issue. Please take the time to explore these materials, collected to help deepen our collective understanding, and consider ways we can each contribute to meaningful change.
